The principal NES natural resource scientists are presented below. Through involvement in technical organizations, continual training and a full-time commitment to excellence in their respective fields, these individuals are dedicated to providing the highest quality services regarding wetlands, wildlife, lakes, streams, and fisheries. NES is also committed to providing mentoring to university students, and provides paid internship opportunities. Additionally, the core natural resource team is supported by surveyors, GIS specialists, engineers, geologists, and planners employed by our parent company, Robert E. Lee & Associates. James Havel
- Wildlife Biology / Wetland Ecology James
manages all wetland projects ranging from wetland
boundary determinations to full scale wetland
restorations. Mr. Havel's primary research specialty is
ornithology with a background in the affects of forest
management practices on the distribution and abundance
of bird-life. He is involved in all wildlife aspects of
NES projects and has considerable NEPA experience.
Martin J. Melchior
— Fisheries biology / Fluvial geomorphology (Subconsultant)
Mr.
Melchior's work focuses mainly on river ecology, stream
restoration, natural channel design, river ecology, and
watershed management. Marty is involved with non-profit
river conservation groups and river issues throughout
the Midwest. He has extensive experience in lakescaping,
biotic indices studies, and aquatic macroinvertebrate
identification. |
