Belle Lake Comprehensive Study

NES biologists investigated the status of fish populations in Belle Lake. Lake property owners wished to know what was causing a percieved imbalance in the walleye fishery. A comprehensive survey was completed, including floristic quality (aquatic vegetation survey), water quality sampling and fish surveys. Water quality sampling included Hydrolab monitoring of temperature and dissolved oxygen profiles, secchi disk and laboratory analysis for phosphorous and nitrogen levels.

Through detailed analysis of all results, NES was able to determine the source of problems with the fishery, and suggest management options. NES has the capability to complete every aspect of lake investigation. Our team brings together expertise in all areas of lake management including water quality, fisheries, wildlife and botany.
