Annabelle Lake Study NES biologists recently completed a comprehensive survey of the biota in Annabelle Lake, near Presque Isle, Wisconsin. Our plant ecologists completed a survey and analysis of the plant community, and our fisheries biologists teamed with local DNR officials in completing a survey of fish species. Funding for this project was obtained through a Wisconsin DNR Lake Planning and Protection Grant to the Annabelle Lake Property Owners Association. Analysis included a floristic quality assessment of aquatic plants and fish population analysis, including age and population distribution. Annabelle Lake has a relatively natural shoreline with high quality aquatic plants and fish habitat.
