Wolf River Recreational Boating Study
NES stream ecologists studied changes
in turbidity in response to recreational
watercraft use in reaches of the Lower Wolf
River in North Central Wisconsin. NES helped
to secure funding for this project by
obtaining a Wisconsin DNR grant on behalf of
the Wolf River Preservation Association.
Our scientists logged many hours recording
such parameters as turbidity, boat speed,
wake height and boat type. In the near
future, the data collected will be used by
managers to help determine proper boating
regulations. |
