Lake Noquebay Wetland Restoration NES was contracted by the legal counsel of an individual who had illegally filled wetlands. NES determined the wetland boundary prior to the placement of the fill, assessed the historical plant community and functional values, designed a restoration and implemented the plan. NES coordinated with the U.S. EPA, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Wisconsin DNR, and Marinette County in establishing an approved wetland restoration plan. The restoration plan was implemented and wetland hydrology, soils, and vegetation were restored at the site. The photo above shows the site following the fill violation, and the lower photo shows the site after two growing seasons. On all of our wetland restoration plans, NES uses only regional native plant sources.
