Blue Mountain Lake Comprehensive Study Through a grant from the Wisconsin DNR, NES was able to complete a comprehensive evaluation of the water quality and aquatic vegetation of Blue Mountain Lake in Central Wisconsin. Residents of the Blue Mountain Lake area were concerned about increasing amounts of aquatic plant growth on the lake. Our botanists and lake specialists examined phosphorous input from the surrounding watershed, surveyed lake use preferences, and monitored temperature, dissolved oxygen, secchi depth and water chemistry. A detailed aquatic plant survey was completed, and NES provided the residents with on-site information sessions and management reccommendations.
