Landscape/Erosion Control Crew Leader
We are seeking a full-time landscape/erosion control crew leader in support of our growing utility services department. This is a labor intensive and physically demanding position including walking and navigating through rough terrain. Successful candidates will have 3+ years of leadership experience, natural resources, landscaping, construction, or farming background, hard work ethic, strong problem solving skills, and be capable of trailering and operating light equipment (tractors, tillers, seeders, skidsteer, etc.). Benefits are included.
Much of the work will require out-of-town travel throughout the State of Wisconsin during the work week. Candidates must be available on short notice during the work week to respond to emergency work. Candidates must also be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Employment will be contingent upon passing a drug screen.
Primary Duties Include: Provide professional and mature leadership in stressful and physically demanding situations, erosion control and restoration project preparation and implementation, conduct daily safety meetings, coordination with program supervisors and staff, equipment maintenance and daily progress reporting and record keeping.
Required Qualifications: Excellent record keeping and communication skills, demonstrate an understanding for leadership principles, ability to motivate crew members, organizational/planning skills, ability to work safely at all times, ability to perform manual labor in rough terrain, lift heavy objects, and work for extended periods of time in various weather conditions.
Employment will be contingent upon passing a drug screen.
